Three Hole Pundit Punched

Due to a lack of readership, frustrated writers, and the taxation of my own chronometric resources, I've decided to close out Three Hole Pundit.

In the end, this is another vindication of the basic principle that if something seems like a chore, it probably should be avoided. Nobody rewards initiative when it comes to self-abuse. Of course, there are other activities in my life that should probably go the way of Three Hole Pundit that I continue to hang onto, but my grip is loosening.

So what did I learn here? On the one hand, Three Hole Pundit got me into Twitter, which is useful and great. I learned that there are some good writers coming up through the ranks, even if their scripts aren't ready. Lastly, I learned a good bit about how blogs work. Despite the constant frivolities, I get better readership on this here rag than I did on Three Hole. Based on what I've read, this is partly because I'm able to post more often. Partly, it's also because people really do like nonsense.

Since this blog doesn't hit me as a pain in the ass, and since I do feel I have some useful things to say, I'll just let the 8 Sided Blog be my voice on the internets. Three Hole Pundit will drift out to sea, and we can launch flaming arrows at it until it burns to a soggy cinder.

Catchy name, though! If any of you screenwriters want the rights to threeholepundit.com, let me know. I'll part with it on reasonable terms.

Feedback on Sam Bailey

Nothing feels better than looking into the eyes of a trusted and beloved collaborator, and seeing confidence and pride. This is just a short note to say that I'm feeling really grateful to be working with the amazing people I'm working with, and to be blessed with this fantastic, beautiful, funny, human story.

When I started writing Sam Bailey, I described it as the kind of project that brings people together and becomes more than the sum of its parts. My intent was to write a script that gave my actors and production team the opportunities they need to be better artists. In the end, I wanted this to become a project people feel compelled to be a part of, enjoy working on, and miss when it's over.

Wouldn't you know that's exactly the kind of night I just had? What a gift!

I love my job. There's nothing better in the world.

The 8 Sided Overhaul

Welcome to www.8sidedblog.com! If you're looking for a post written before March 28, 2009, you'll find it at http://tenny.8sidedfilms.com.

My new blog is much like my old one, with a few positive exceptions. All posts will be mirrored on Facebook for folks who don't like to venture too far from their internet doorsteps. You've already noticed the cleaner look, and I've done away with the GoDaddy text ads.

Otherwise, you'll get the same ramblings and rhapsodies you've grown to love. Thanks for tracking me down at the new digs, and thanks for reading!

Yours truly,
Tennyson E. Stead
