After six months of exciting work and grueling schedules, The Starmind Record is complete! Thank you to all those who followed our weekly episodes. For those who haven't seen it, we're going to keep the entire series online RIGHT HERE.
For the uninitiated, The Starmind Record is the story of two documentary filmmakers from Los Angeles who discover and investigate the presence of an extra-terrestrial intelligence. Now that the Starmind is complete, we need people to see it! Our twitter and facebook followers have been very helpful in making sure that happens - but it's the members of the 8 Sided Forum who are most instrumental in showing movie theaters, festivals, and the industry as a whole that folks want us kept busy telling stories.
Over the next year, movie theaters and festivals are going to be very important... because the response to Starmind has been so strong, that we have decided to crowdsource a feature film! Right now, we are in development on a science-fiction project that combines our sense of nerdy whimsy and fun with our commitment to high stakes, drama, and conflict - and from the financing to the distribution, we're going to be building on the foundation laid down by The Starmind Record.

There are networking benefits to the Forum as well. Many of our performers are experienced, working actors with a passion for helping new Angelinos get their careers organized. Creatively, we have more than a century of theater experience between us. Community has always been the root of a performance troupe's success. So it was for Shakespeare, so it was for Homer... and so it is again, now that social media has made community a global notion. You are the core of our community, and now is the time for us to stand together for independent media.
